Desert Survival [Always Open] [Started]

Note: The main purpose of this Roleplay is practice for newcomers, veterans of Resurgence Roleplay are also encouraged to join either so they can rp with and help the newcomers

Endless...unknown...unnamed....unforgiving...those are just a few words that describe this desert. Extreme heat in the morning, extreme cold at night. Miles upon miles of nothing but sand. No clear direction or way out of the desert, it doesn't even seem like there is an end sometimes, it's just forever reaching, and forever disrupting. Whatever way you ended up here, it doesn't really matter now, because there's only one thing you need to do...
....survive.....

2. Maximum character limit of 3
3. No blatantly escaping the desert
4. Food and water will be scarce, however reachable, so you can find moderate amounts, just not extremely huge amounts at a time

It was all black for awhile, Norman was sitting in the pilots chair, his head smashed up against the controls. He was partially conscious, only able to hear what was around him but not see anything. He heard what sounded like fuel or some kind of liquid leaking throughout the cockpit. He also heard the sound of fire, however the sound of the fire got louder, and the smell of smoke stronger, this would snap him full on into reality, his eyes shooting open and examining the massive damage around him. The plane split in two on it's impact into the sandy desert ground, there was a small fire burning on the control panel right above where his head was, and there was blood stained on the panel and chair from his injuries upon impact. "Shit..." Norman muttered, forcing himself out of his seat, trying to avoid passing out from the pain and dizziness, he crawled away from the fire, pushing himself into a sitting position before looking for any items he could find. Luckily for the old anthropology Mightyena he had a decent amount of supplies with him that he took along just in case he got held up somewhere or something went wrong. He checked to see what was undamaged and usable, and was able to get 2 gallons of water and 3 MRE'S out of the airplane, before pulling himself to his feet and walking out into the hot desert grounds. "What do I do now..." He muttered calmly, determined not to let panic get to him.

First lets get this fact out there, Kate is a mercenary, though she certainly didn't look it. This was going to be a high paying easy contract. After painstaking tracking, and careful planning the assassination of Leopold Van Ferguson should have been simple. However it wasn't. Long story short, she succeeded in her goal, but was captured and left for dead in the desert.
She had been walking for miles hoping for something, anything to keep her going. "Ugh Sand Sand Sand. Nothing in the distance but sand!" She said in frustration. Then in the distance something caught her eye. She wasn't sure what it was, but it was something other than sand. That at least was reassuring.
She continued to push through despite weariness. As she inched ever closer, she could make out the wreckage of a plane. She kept on going. Maybe there were people there or supplies or anything that could help her not die. Finally, she reached within feet of the plane. "Is anyone there?" she muttered barely able to get the words from her mouth.

Jules shot awake and had no clue what the hell was going on. He was laying face down in the sand, he could smell fire, but really didn't feel like getting up. Jules winced when he moved his hands, noticing third degree burns on them, with blisters forming and bubbling. He knew he had to treat it somehow, and sand wasn't going to help. With very little determination he got up and started walking in the direction that the smoke came from and after awhile he saw the plane. And then he saw a weird looking person. Not wanting to be attacked, he sat down and shoved his hands in his pocket, only to find a compass stabbed into his hand. "Bloody hell! I don't even like math!" He screamed. Now he really needed help, but was still afraid. His vision began to haze so he tried to focus on the memes that covered his jeans to keep from passing out, which did not work what so ever. As he passed out, he realized that he shouldn't have told his mother that he hated her.

The first thing Norman heard outside of the growing fire in the plane was a light mutter. If it wasn't for his increased sense of hearing due to being a Mightyena he probably would not have heard the mutter at all, but he did. If took him some time to actually make out what was said, but he uses common sense to figure it out because there isn't many things a person would say when lost in the desert. "Yeah, there is someone here." Norman said, placing down his water and MRE's, not bothering to actually turn around and look at the person. "There's some food snd water in a pile here. Do not take a lot of it. Ration yourself, cause it seems we aren't even the only ones out here dammit." As Norman spoke he walked over to Jules, whom he heard scream and noticed pass out. "What did I crash in a popular tourism spot." Norman said with a mixture of joking and complaining in his tone. He knew that the more people that came here, the less supplies there would be for all of them, however he also knew that if he lied about having supplies, and they found them, he would have to expend energy fighting off not one, but two people, and that could also be a heavy drain on supplies. Norman picked up Jules and carried him to the back part of the plane, which miraculously was only moderately damaged, and just kind of threw him in there.

She heard Norman's voice, and proceeded to get some water. She took a nice swig of water and layed back on the sand for a while. Her muscles were weary from her walk over, and simply lying there felt good even if it was hot. It was at least an hour before she stirred again. She opened her eyes and recollected the events leading up to this in her mind. Finally she got up. She figured it best to try to speak to whoever it was who had been so kind as to help her. She hadn't gotten a good glimpse of him before, and was a bit surprised to see an anthro Mightyena. "Thank you very much sir. Without your generosity I probably would lay dead in the sand. The name's Kate, you are?" She tried to hide her true nature most of the time especially when she met new people. She figured if she ever needed to, she could catch them by surprise. Besides her business wasn't exactly legal.

Over the course of the hour that Kate was resting, Norman himself wasn't doing all that much either. His biggest spurt of activity was within the first 15 minutes after Kate lied down to rest, Norman focused on getting as much as he could out of the front of the aircraft before the fire overtook it. Then he threw what he could into the back of the aircraft, it wasn't much, just some broken plane parts, but he considered that it may come in handy in the future. Afterwards, Norman's spurt of activity screeched to a halt as he began quickly losing energy from moving the plane parts. Then, he just sat down cross legged in the sand, breathing heavily. He looked at the water, but shook his head. "Gotta conserve..." Norman said, out of breath. He slouched as he sat, the hot desert sun beating down on his black leather jacket, at this point sweat was pouring off of him, but he refused to take the jacket off. It went on like this for the next 45 minutes until Kate got up and spoke to him. Upon hearing her, Norman turned his head towards the Skitty Gijinka and thd first thing that came out of his mouth was. "Wouldn't expect to see someone like you out here." Then, after he got more situated with interaction, he would respond to the actual statement. "That is no problem at all, better chance of surviving if we stick together. The name is Norman, I'd say nice to meet ya, but I don't think that applies under the circumstances." Norman said with a light chuckle.

"I suppose so. Well you see..." She hesitated for a moment considering what she would say "I'm not like others 'like me' see. I can handle myself, unlike them or else I'd be dead by now." She was a bit emflamed by the above opening comment. There was a sudden change in her tone after thepause, but it was gone by the following sentence. "Now, onto more pressing matters. That food store won't last the two of us let alone three very long. I propose we kill and eat the unconcious one. He won't take our food, and we'll have more. Or we cou-" She stopped speaking, eyeing something. Kate slowly drew a dagger. Her eyes seemed to follow something behind Norman. She carefully walked forward. Then in a single motion, she pounced forward. Tenderly grazing behind Norman had been a desert hare. A plump, protein-filled, desert hare. Within a few moments, it was dead. "I figure you know this: Don't ever waste a chance at a meal. You never know if it could be the last you find."

"Hm, well yes I'd agree on the fact that most people would probably be dead walking throughout a desert with no supplies, so props to you in that aspect. Now about the aspect of killing the kid, let's be honest, he probably won't last long anyways so there really...." As Kate stopped talking, Norman stopped talking soon after as he would watch the Skitty Gijinka zone in on the desert hare and take it out within the matter of a few moments. "Not bad." Norman said, chuckling and clapping lightly, some of the sand that begun to cover his legs as he sat began to fall off of him once he moved slightly. "Not bad at all. And yeah, trust me, I'm well aware of the importance of getting as much food as possible."

"I figured, and thanks." She looked around and found a stick. She jabbed it through the open wound of the hare, and lifted it up. Kate placed it directly over the presumably dying down fire of the plane and held it there for a while. After a few minutes, she judged it properly cooked, and placed it with the other food. She then sat down within earshot of Norman. "A flaming crashed airplane will certainly get the attention of any possible rescuers, so no meed to waste resources and energy on that. Hm, next most important would be to find somekind of water source." She sighed. "Much easier said than done. Any ideas Norm?""

As Kate was cooking the desert hare, Norman stood up and walked over to the broken rear end of the plane, he examined it for awhile before climbing up it, actually seeming quite agile despite his age. He looked around for a couple minutes, his intention was to see if he could find anything sticking out of the desert sands. After being unsuccessful in his search, he jumped back off of the plane, going back to the spot he was originally sitting in and sitting back down. Not long after he would hear Kate's statement, and immediately options would pour into Norman's head. "Well there are four options that come to me immediately. We could search for a large source of water, but we'd probably die before we got anywhere close to one. We could wait for rainfall, but who knows when that will come. We could search for cactus or anything else that gives off a little bit of water, but the effort to water ratio may not be good. We could also drink our own urine, which we will probably do anyways, but it will have less water as we drink it."
